The outcome of this Battle was achieved after the Soviet Union trapped the German Army in the city of Stalingrad. They had succeeded in not only protecting the city that was named after their leader Stalin, but causing the Germans to retreat and cause WWII to go downhill from there on for them. In the end, the victory belonged to the Soviets, with casualties resulting in over 1 million poeple.
